MUHBA - Fabra i Coats
The Fabra i Coats factory was designed in the English industrial style and is a heritage site of outstanding interest. Its restoration has preserved much of the original built structure, which is now being used by organisations and cultural and educational projects. The initiative was promoted by Barcelona's History Museum, MUHBA, and was devised with the aim of creating a museum space focusing on the city and work. The complex includes the large generator rooms, together with a series of other spaces. The project includes the archives and objects from the remarkable collection donated to the city by the Association of Friends of Fabra i Coats.
The vast boiler room, with its documentary resource tracing its history, is a heritage space designed to further knowledge about the technical and social evolution and workings of the textile industry.
